TINNED PEAS: An Interactive Poetry Installation

Thornlea Studios, Exeter

Inspired by the use of foley art, I created an exhibition of mundane objects that the reader interacted with to create a sound that was embedded in the poem. The reader carried my collection of poems designed like a ‘How to’ guide around to each station with the poem title above it.

The installation was accompanied by my essay, titled: ‘Tangible Poetry and Dried Peas: How can the printed poem be transformed into an interactive, sensory experience?

Remarkable ‘ways of seeing’ (or hearing!) in here and, with that a great sense of metaphor and image making... Really Excellent!...a delight to visit and experience.
